Golden star Wassa Ltd （GSWL）had emerged as the winner of Zone 2, in the just ended Inter-Mines First Aid and Safety Competition held on 4rd September 2022. Golden Star scored highest ahead of Newmont Golden Ridge Ltd (Akyem Mine), Abosso Goldfields Ltd and Adamus Resources Ltd, qualifying for the national competition slated for November 2022.
Team Golden Star was represented by Bridget Onimpadu, Emmanuel Yakubu, Linda Biney and Eunice Kunka for the competition that involved quizzes and practical aspects of first aid and safety. The competition is organized by the Ghana Chamber of Mines for all mining companies in Ghana.
GSWL’s participation in the competition demonstrates Chifeng Gold’s commitment to the vision of safety and sustainable development by constantly upgrading its health and safety systems and practices. In addition, the participation will drive the growth of skills and capacity to support the business, employees and host communities in the areas of first aid and safety.
