On 30 April 2026, a reception celebrating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of China-Laos diplomatic relations and the "China-Laos Year of Friendship" was held in Beijing. Lyu Xiaozhao, Vice Chairman of Chifeng Gold, and Zhao Guanghui, General Manager of Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML), a controlled subsidiary of Chifeng Gold in Laos, were invited to attend.
During the event, Lyu Xiaozhao greeted and demonstrated Laos People's Democratic Republic Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Thongsavanh Phomvihane the recent development of LXML's Sepon Gold and Copper Mine. Lyu noted that as the largest mining enterprise in Laos, the Sepon Mine has maintained stable and sustainable operations since its acquisition by Chifeng Gold, having cumulatively produced over one million ounces of gold. The mine has also created nearly 6,000 local jobs. As of March 
2026, LXML has contributed more than US$2 billion to the Laos People's Democratic Republic in taxes, royalties, dividends, and other fees. Through continuous technological innovation, LXML has steadily improved resource recovery rates. Meanwhile, increased exploration efforts have yielded significant results, with the newly discovered SND gold-copper project laying a solid foundation for the future of the Sepon Mine. The project is expected to deliver the equivalent of "another Sepon Mine" and to significantly extend the mine's life of mine. Lyu emphasized that Chifeng Gold remains firmly committed to further invest in Laos' mining sector.
Deputy Prime Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane fully acknowledged the outstanding contributions made by Chifeng Gold and LXML to Laos' economic development in recent years, and encouraged the Company to continue its deep engagement in Laos, promoting further cooperation and shared economic progress in the mining sector between the two countries.
Lyu Xiaozhao stated that Chifeng Gold will take the 65th anniversary of China-Laos diplomatic relations as a new starting point to expand its footprint in Laos by establising a green, innovative, and mutual benefiting mining corporation, and to contribute to the creation of a high-standard, high-level China-Laos community with a shared future.
